Posted on Dec 5, 2011 at 4:12 PM
Note: It appears that you can not use the mappings in the pseudo-constructor (e.g. you can not have a cfinclude in the pseudo-constructor that uses the mapping.) You must wait until after it (the pseudo-constructor) has completed execution.... read more »

The School Of Practical Philosophy: Love - Week Four
Posted on Oct 15, 2011 at 8:18 AM
Ben, Did the class ever present a concise working definition of love? Call me a stickler, but there tends to be a huge muddy factor when people try to teach about love without defining it that can easily be overcome with a concise definition. Tom... read more »

Ask Ben: Enforcing An SSL (HTTPS) Connection Based On Request
Posted on Aug 1, 2011 at 5:10 PM

I'm wondering if those values could possible be captured by a packet sniffer and, then the evil-doer could be used to spoof the person while creating an ss... read more »

@paul Excellent explanation of the different words defining love. I would only add the biblically speaking, since God is a just God, we CAN expect the "value" back, just not directly from the person we gave it to. Posted on Apr 26, 2011 at 5:03 PM
I would encourage anyone interested in going through Atlas Shrugged to check out the notes linked below. They show how the model that Rand presented was a spiritual one even though she probably would have denied it. I continue to mention these notes because they have proven very valuable to me. ... read more »

@Lola, I agree, I believe that justice will be equaled out one way or another. My original point was that if someone didn't belive that justice is always equaled out, then they ought not to forgive and take justice out themselves. Tom... read more »

@Ben, What if the the thing that you are forgiving the person for was that they took $100 from you? I agree that forgiving them may take the weight off your shoulders but you would still be out the cash. Tom... read more »

The School Of Practical Philosophy: Philosophy Works - Week Four
Posted on Feb 8, 2011 at 5:37 PM
Ben, I'm enjoying this series. For me one of the benefits of rest is that we can take the time to consider the things we have learned during our most recent "Action". We can go back through all the good and bad points to validate our beliefs. At that point, with the new information, we ... read more »
