Hey Bo, I just got a call from a .NET developer-

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.... .NET .... ha ha ha ha ha ha .... good one!

That wasn't a joke, dude.

Dude, .NET is always a joke.

Dammit ! Don't make me laugh out loud in the office :-)

uh, you know .net programmers laugh even harder at cf 'engineers'. I mean... c'mon, we're talking proprietary mark-up here. cfscript only made it more of a kludge. I straddle both spheres, and there's not a day goes by I don't wish I could redo our cf apps as .net or java.

Okay, this one was funny. Without respect to whether it's true (no need to incite the evangelists), it's the first one to make me laugh out loud.

They are all in good fun ;) Not trying to incite any wars.

@Charles,

I would be curious to know what about .net and java you wish was doable in ColdFusion?

Very funny. Even if you don't agree with picking on .net, I think laughter is the best way to respond when you hear about someone who's looking for a job and says he or she is a .NET programmer.

I gotta say you've all deluded yourselves. We're talking about markup here. More of a market for .Net engineers than CF 'engineers'. C# being what it is any .Net engineer can easily move between Java and back. All respect to some of the more interesting kludges posted on this site, it's still just that. Tinkering with proprietary markup to get less results than you'd get doing real wed dev.

@Charles,

The comics are just in good fun. As far as kludgey things, I am not sure what you are talking about? Everything that I experiment with is only done so using things supported by the ColdFusion language.

What do you mean by real world development? I make professional websites all the time??
