Hot Town, Summer In The City

At about 1:30am last night I finally gave up at my apartment, hopped in a Cab, and headed to the office. It was like 100 degrees in my apartment. I live in a basement apartment in Manhattan which I think is just above the boiler room (I have hot spots on my floor). I have no air conditioning and I have some sort of generator and flood light outside my one window making it very unpleasant to open the window to let fresh air in. So, I got to the office and slept on the floor in the conference room. While it wasn't soft, the polished cement of the office floor and the air conditioning let me sleep better than my bed at home. Plus, my commute was NOTHING this morning. And yes, luckily I do carry toothbrush and deodorant with me at all times.

I guess it's time to figure out some sort of air conditioning situation. It's supposed to get over 100 degrees several days this week. Living in the city is so freakin' expensive and I have been trying to cut corners where I can (hence the basement apartment and no air conditioning). Ugg. I just don't have a lot of money right now and I have to get some dental work done in the very near future, not to mention a vacation to sunny Massachusetts. I do this to myself though; I don't have to live in the city.

Yes, having an appartment in Manhattan is pretty unwise, especially when you only visit it a few times a month. I fill out my times sheets more often than you visit your appartment!!!
