    @Rick, FWIW I find that's a waste of space. Users need to be able to resize text (and by extension, line height and letter spacing), but they don't need to be able to resize padding.     There are valid use-cases for nbsp -- the article Chris Peters linked to had a prime one -- using it to prevent text from splitting in certain places.
