What Is Skin Spider?
For any of you who follow my blog, you will know that I am a fan of keeping things fun. There's no point in learning if you are not going to be enjoying it, and you will learn better if you are genuinly interested in the topic domain. So, I'm pulling a little nudie into it. Yeah, a little "wink wink". Skin Spider is going to be a small application for downloading and organizing free video clips from video clip thumbnail sites.
Yes, that does involve adult content (if YOU choose - it is a generic program).
I settled upon this project because the adult industry is an enormous driving force in this world. It's like the golden-touch. Anything that porn touches succeeds. VCR players, DVDs, the internet, all sorts of virtual reality/experience gear. No matter what, if it can be used to distribute porn, it will become a multi-billion dollar industry. I'm not fighting it - I'm leveraging it to distribute learning.
Other than the fun-factor, I have also chosen this project because I can envision it going from very simple to very complex. This will help us explore application development from the ground-up. It will help demonstrate feature-changes during application development. It will help us explore refactoring. It will help us explore object oriented programming.
I can't really go into it much more detail because a better explanation will be given at the start of each iterative approach of the application development life-cycle.
