Nice post, Ben. One minor suggestion, though: $.pipe() returns a promise, while $.ajax returns a jQuery Deferred object. The difference being that a promise does not expose methods that can alter the state of the deferred (resolve(), reject(), resolveWith(), and rejectWith()). This behavior... read more »
