  As far as clicking on links in the web browser that cause pop ups to occur when trying to open iTunes, it doesn't matter if iTunes is open or not, this message is mostly a warning that something on the internet is communicating with an application on your computer.   One easy way to add album art is to select all of the songs in the album and then right click and select Get Info.
