  • People! Please Stop Using Single Quotes!

Posted on Nov 7, 2006 at 3:19 PM

Ben, I also HATE the use of single quotes in attributes. I can only think of one time that I use them. • ColdFusion CFQuery BlockFactor Is Not Impressing Me

Posted on Oct 12, 2006 at 12:25 PM

A couple of things I've noticed over the years about blockfactor. First off, in Oracle they can make a HUGE difference. For very intense queries, where without the processing time could be 40,000+ milliseconds without blockfactor, I've seen them drop to 1,000+. Quite a difference. Another thing,... read more »

I can't say I'm quite as "crazy" with my whitespace as you are, but I couldn't agree with the concept more. When I code, indenting and spacing are a big part of what I do. Nothing worse than coming back to a piece of long and hairy code 6 months later and no being able to figure out what you were ... read more »

  • CFInclude Templates Are Parsed Regardless Of File Type

Oh, don't get me wrong - I personaly don't have a problem seeing beautiful women - it just might be a bit hard to explain if the wrong person walked by my cube while I was, ummm, testing your sample code. ;-)... read more »

Good post - simple, clean and to the point! Also, I thought I'd let you know that code samples are coming through as PRE tags, at least in Bloglines. One compliant -- the choice of images for the sample is a tad bit NSFW.... read more »
