Yep; the key seems to be to tread lightly with svn. Folder deletes and renames are problematic and should be done carefully and in tiny steps; move files, commit; delete files, commit; etc.... read more »

BTW I have this problem all the time with SubVersion; it just happened again, and I was hoping to find an elegant solution, instead of my normal method of blowing away all the hidden .svn files and tricking SVN.
