Getting Excited For cf.Objective() 2008

cf.Objective() 2008 is almost upon us and I've been so busy with work and with the NYCFUG that I've hardly had time to express my excitement. This is my second ever ColdFusion technology conference, so naturally there is a lot of anticipation; but even more than that, I am really looking forward to the smaller venue. As much as I loved my time at CFUNITED and all it had to offer, I've been told that cf.Objective() creates a smaller, more intimate setting where you can really rub shoulders with other developers. If you haven't registered yet, come on and do it already, you know you want to. If you have registered, I'll see you there.
This will also be the first time that I have ever been in Minnesota. I don't know much about it other than what Garrison Keillor reports on the News from Lake Wobegon. Sure, I know that St. Paul is no Lake Wobegon, and yeah, I know that Lake Wobegon doesn't "technically" exist, but I am definitely expecting that all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average.
And, on a related note, I'll be going on the Scott Stroz-Iron Man outing. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, it is suggested that you do so.

It's coming up fast. Need to figure out what to bring. Looking forward to the sessions, people etc. I think I have said "I'll buy you a beer at cfobjective" to a few too many peope. I may be broke by the end. :-)

I don't want to split hairs, but I'm pretty sure you tole me, "I'll buy you a a really awesome laptop computer at cfobjective"... but my mind might be playing tricks on me - it's a bit hot in the office today.

Never thought you were a Garrison Keiller man. Got turned onto him by and old gf from SD (well, really - what else is there to do but listen to Public Radio that far north!).

I am a fan of all things, "NPR" :) Plus, my father was a HUGE fan of "Guy Noir", so I always had to listen to it in the car every Saturday night.
Also, my dad got me a whole set of cassettes of his (including short stories) and I used to listen to them falling asleep. Remember cassettes! I was pretty young.
Can't wait to try some pair programming.
Life is good. It's a lot better if you stay away from Daryl but, basically, life is good.

D'oh! I was out of the loop on this one. Just fired off an email to my boss to see if they'll send me, but with the short notice, I'm not optimistic. :-(
My girlfriend lives in St Paul, so I'm quite familiar with the area. If you want some unbelievably fantastic food and mixed drinks, I highly recommend a meat and seafood restaurant just a few blocks east of downtown SP called The Strip Club. Corner of 6th St E and Maria Ave near Metro State University.
Downtown St Paul itself isn't exactly the "swingingest" part of the Twin Cities, but other dinner/drink destinations you might consider are Senor Wong, The Liffey Irish pub, or Mancini's for a retro 40's supper club/steak house.
In Minneapolis, there's Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge</a> for a tacky tiki bar experience, Grumpy's (Washington Ave location) for burgers and beer, and Town Talk Diner for booze-filled malts (two words: Aw. Yeah.).
Our local alt weekly rag also just released their Best of the Twin Cities issue [http://bestof.citypages.com] if you want another viewpoint.
I've enjoyed your blog for quite some time, so feel free to drop me a line if you're looking for other types of suggestions or if you even want to meet up for a beer.
