Rescue Dawn Starring Christian Bale And Steve Zahn

Last night, I went to see Werner Herzog's Rescue Dawn starring Christian Bale and Steve Zahn. I am a big fan of both these actors and so-so fan of Werner Herzog. I have to admit, I don't really know much about Herzog as a Director; I first heard of him when Grizzly Man came out and that movie (Grizzly Man) and this movie (Rescue Dawn) are the only... read more »

The Bourne Ultimatum Starring Matt Damon And Julia Stiles

Posted: August 6, 2007 at 9:39 AM by Ben Nadel

This weekend, I went to see the Bourne Ultimatum... twice. This movie was a lot of fun. I haven't seen the first two in a quite a while, so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I would have to say that the first half of this movie represents the best Jason Bourne action to date. It really sucks you right in from the very beginning and holds your attentio... read more »

No Reservations Starring Catherine Zeta-Jones And Aaron Eckhart

Posted: August 4, 2007 at 5:53 PM by Ben Nadel

I saw No Reservations Thursday night at the tail end of the week from hell. I was exhausted, a bit shaky, and really wanted nothing more than to just sit in a theater, any theater with air conditioning, and just zone out. As such, my feelings about No Reservations might be a bit skewed to the negative end of the spectrum, cause frankly, I wasn't t... read more »

I Know Who Killed Me Starring Lindsay Lohan

Posted: July 29, 2007 at 5:28 PM by Ben Nadel

Last night, I went to see the new psychological thriller, I Know Who Killed Me, starring Lindsay Lohan. I didn't know anything about the movie before hand, and I really didn't go in with any sort of expectations - it was just a spur of the moment decision. I find that this is the best way to experience a movie because you are more likely to be ple... read more »

Hostel II Is Terrifyingly Boring

Posted: June 25, 2007 at 9:26 AM by Ben Nadel

Tags: Movies

I went to see Hostel II over the weekend and I thought I would send out a warning - if you are planning on seeing it, DON'T! It is insanely boring. I was looking at the reviews and people seem to think this one is sadistic and evil and pushes the envelope even further than the first one. This could not be farther from the truth. Now, don't get me ... read more »

John Rambo Trailer (Rambo IV) - Old Dog, New Tricks

Posted: June 10, 2007 at 12:22 PM by Ben Nadel

Tags: Movies

I just caught the John Rambo trailer over on FirstShowing.net. This stuff really pleases me; sometimes, there's nothing greater than seeing an older guy kicking some serious ass (think Rocky Balboa, Cinderella Story). And, from the looks of the trailer, there going to be plenty of blood, action, and Rambo-style ass kicking. I hope that when I am... read more »

This is very exciting - it's Dirty Dancing's 20th anniversary and Clearview Cinemas is hosting special showings of it in theaters. I never got to see this one in the theaters, but I love this movie. How could you not love this movie? "Nobody puts baby in the corner." If you are interested, check out this promotion . ... read more »

Good Family Values: Click Is Classic Adam Sandler

Posted: June 29, 2006 at 7:58 AM by Ben Nadel

Tags: Movies

I pulled my first with-girlfriend double-feature last weekend, sneaking from Nacho Libre into Click on the price of one admission ticket. After seeing Nacho Libre I needed a pick-me-up and Click delivered. For those of you who are Adam Sandler fans, you will know that from his slap-stick comedy to his serious roles, Sandler's movies have a resound... read more »

Nacho Libre Disappointing

Posted: June 29, 2006 at 7:58 AM by Ben Nadel

Tags: Movies

Last weekend I went to see a matinee of Nacho Libre. I am HUGE Jack Black fan and I have to say that this movie was very disappointing. Rarely funny and with horrible accents that fade from spanish to italian, it was a movie clearly aimed at a younger age group. To support this, the children in the theatre were hootin' and hollerin' with delight a... read more »

Superman Not Super Exciting

Posted: June 29, 2006 at 7:52 AM by Ben Nadel

Tags: Movies

Went to a late show of the new Superman movie last night. It was not bad, but not super exciting. A little too much CGI, not quite enough story, and a bit too long. Some of the CGI stuff I just don't understand; they used CGI to do things that the old Superman movies did with live action. I have to say though, the guy who plays Superman was a perf... read more »

Wolf Creek a Total Waste of Time

Posted: April 25, 2006 at 7:45 AM by Ben Nadel

Tags: Movies

Just saw the Australian movie "Wolf Creek" on DVD. I had heard nothing but good things about it. People said it was one of the best horror / thriller movies they had seen in a long time. It was a pile of poop. Not only did nothing happen in the film, but you totally cannot sympathize with any of the characters. They are all lame, unmotivated, and ... read more »
