Ben - I must admit to admiring the elegantly straight-forward nature of edit.com's business model. They seem to answer the buying question of "we need to make some changes to our site" in a way to appeals to businesses big and small. Not to mention the fact that their cost-of-production on your typical "html/text" modification work must be incredibly low. If they leverage outsourcing it would almost be worth giving these services away just for the opportunity to capture hosting and other up-sells -- sure Mr. Jones, would you like a new "design" with those text changes?.

They do a fair bit of "site standardization" when they edit a site. As part of the service they will go through and make sure you are using web standards, validate the HTML, actually change the underlying structure of the site (without changing the look/feel) so that it is better. I am not sure how outsourcable that kind of stuff is? But, yes, certainly I think there are two levels of work that get done over there - higher level decisions and lower t-crossing, i-dotting stuff that maybe can be outsourced when their work flow has been perfected.
