I Love That "Oh Wow!" Moment

I was just demoing an application to a client using GoTo Meeting (a very cool screen sharing application). Everything was moving along smoothly when it happened; the "Oh Wow!" moment. This is the moment where a piece of functionality in the given application strikes a chord with the demo attendee and they begin to understand just how this application is about to revolutionize their lives. It's such an awesome feeling. But even more than that, most of us know that our products are here to help people function, but it's very nice to know that the client knows it as well.

That IS a great feeling... Much better than the "Oh "%#$&@*" moment when they either don't get it - or decide that it's not really wanted they wanted and would like you to start over... :)
I had the opposite the other day. Live demo to client, error comes up. Error handler picks it up nicely, emails me the error. I jump into that - basically, our SQL server fell over as it ran out of space for logs!!!!
Long story short - jumped onto Citrix, Remote Desktop-ed the SQL Server, made some space and kept on going.
My horoscope said nuttin about that.
Yeah, I hate getting errors during live demos, but I think it happens to everyone. I think the worse though is just the dead silence on the phone... do they get it? do they hate it? do they follow anything I am saying? maybe I am not explaining enough? maybe they are bored? oh crap, what do I do? Bad feedback is at least more comforting in a way than no feedback at all (at least there is no guessing).
