This morning, I was both thrilled and surprised to find out that Adobe has officially released ColdFusion 9 - the latest and most powerful ColdFusion application server. Over the past few months, I have been blogging a lot about the ColdFusion 9 public beta and all of the new features that it makes available; and, after months of experimenting, digging, and testing, I can honestly say that Adobe ColdFusion 9 is, without a doubt, totally awesome.

I was also surprised to find out that I am featured in the ColdFusion 9 community feadback videos! That is just way awesome. And, thank you to the people who emailed / twittered me to let me know I was up there.

These are very exciting times!
Looking For A New Job?
Woot! Horray for CF9! And horray for saucy pictures!
Ha ha, yeah, very exciting.
Yummy! And CF9 is looking good, too ;)
Where can I get a copy of the "official" CF9 poster above? :P
The poster may have been a better fit for ColdFusion 8.
Think about it. ;)
Unfortunately, I don't have a hi-res of that.
Ha ha, clever :)
Maybe one of them is from Total Recall and you just can't tell...
Awesome movie :)
It's been mentioned elsewhere, but in case people didn't see it, the licensing model is much different for CF9 now too - it's a TON cheaper to deploy. A single license now grants you the rights to deploy a production, staging, backup, and development server. An Enterprise license lets you deploy it on a cloud (up to 10 nodes).
This change is truly the most exciting for me - it means the cost barrier to entry just got a lot lower :)
This is a good day for CF lovers!
I watched the video clip yesterday but I got nothing out of what he was saying because I was totally distracted by Ben's scar - you know from the fake bar fight!
Yeah, the makeup they put on me did nothing :)
Ben, based on the video I assume you have some connections... ;-)
Like ask Ben too, maybe you can convey this to ADOBE management.
Like many other CF developers I heavily rely on the online documentation. But it is soooo SLOW. It is a disservice to the CF community that we need to invest so much time just waiting a dumb static page to load.
I was hoping that with CF 9 under Adobe this would change but is the same bad response time.
Thank you for helping all the community.
I saw the video just now.
what's with the third eye?
Great to see you there though.
I hear what you're saying. I have found the CF9 documentation to be the fastest live-docs version so far.
Yeah, I know, right! It was just bad timing. Got injured literally two days before the video :(
Thanks for the links. Cool that they put your mug on their site. I guess you signed away your rights many moons ago?
Now if some one could just tell us where Adobe hid the CF9 tag updater for HomeSite. The instalation instructions for it have been added to the online CF9 documentation, but no hint where they put the zip file.
If you find it, let me know! :)
Ben, I take it that your mom doesn't know about your blog. ;)
Awesome possum! Congrats on being featured.
I just want to say that I am totally and completely proud that it was a Webapper guy who made the first joke about "8." I was all set to post a comment about that, and, skimming over the existing comments, saw that Steven had already gone what we like to call "The Webapper Way." Nice work, Steven. :)
Ha ha, you gotta love the webapper team :)
